Peterborough United 18’s-21’s Coach

  • Date Joined: 30th August 2016
After growing up in the area & being an academy player from the age of 8, I was a pro at Peterborough United for 4 years. After a further 3 years & almost 100 senior appearances representing various teams in both League 1, 2 & the National League, I began my coaching career in 2008 alongside playing part time. Fortunately because of my relationship with Peterborough United & the experiences I had there as a player from 9-21, I was approached to get involved in the academy setup alongside founding a multi sports company working in local schools & local grass roots clubs. Through my company I provided physical education, technical skills, psychological & social development to children of all ages.

Since November 2008 at Peterborough United I have worked right the way through with the 8-18 year olds as a squad manager & technical development coach. This preceded me taking over as 12’s-16’s Lead Coach in July 2014 & then Head of Coaching & 18’s Assistant Coach in July 2015. Being able to pass on my own experiences & help to develop young players is something I am hugely passionate about & have found incredibly rewarding.

I completed my Uefa A Licence in October 2015 & began my Advanced Youth award in July 2016. I strongly believe I have amassed a good amount of knowledge & understanding of the standards required to coach to a high level in all 4 corners of player development. I have done this across all phases within academy football which I believe stands me in good stead for any future roles I may take on. Having seen what it takes to firstly work with players from 13-16 to obtain a scholarship a scholarship & then continue this by working with them day in, day out to try & help them push on & achieve a pro contract at 18, I believe I could be a high performing employee for any football club.
