Key Achievements

  • Seconded to Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games as Project Director, was responsible for the co-ordination, organisation and training of operational staff and I employed 700 staff to meet the key milestones set out by the games organising Committee.
  • Avant Sports Management become the first company in Scotland to develop and deliver Level 2 Spectator Safety qualification meaning they could setup an Event Stewarding Academy.
  • Co-Founder of the Central Region over-35s Football League, which is the only affiliated over-35s league in Scotland, and growing it from one division of ten teams to two divisions with ten teams within a year, now 4 leagues of 52 teams.
  • Set up an amateur team, first team and over-35s team - with the amateur side gaining promotion in their first season and now competing in the Strathclyde Saturday Morning League for the last three years
  • Spearheaded the growth of the business at PKC S’porting Solutions CIC, taking it from incubation to over £1m in turnover
  • Identified multiple new revenue streams at Firhill Stadium, for example selling alcohol at Glasgow Warriors Rugby matches, subsequently bringing in circa £800K to £900K per annum for PKC and £500K for Partick Thistle across three years
  • Secured £10K in funding per month from the government as part of the National Work Programme
  • Worked closely with FE Colleges to deliver training to over 1200 event staff
