Job Role Details
To support the coaching and development of the football programme for both Buckswood academy and Buckswood Scholars.
The following list of duties and responsibilities is not meant to be exclusive. It should be taken as an indicator of the type and level of activity expected of this post.
The list does not represent either priorities or frequency of tasks and should be regularly updated by the post holder in consultation with and agreement of their line manager.
This general job description is not comprehensive and the post holder will be required to undertake such other tasks appropriate to the level of appointment as the Head Teacher may reasonably require.
Coach against the performance programme for Football provided by CHELSEA FC FOUNDATION.
Increase participation in football throughout the school through recruitment at events and taster sessions.
Manage the Academy squad by agreeing individual student performance targets; co-coordinating the training and schedule and ensuring students balance academic and sporting commitments.
-Maintaining or improving academy student's academic effort grades.
-to deliver qualification in FA Coaching or Community Sports Leaders award for 100% of the academy.
Promote learning and professional development and extend previous knowledge in an engaging and motivating manner. Plan and deliver coaching sessions, which develops and improves player/team performance but ensures enjoyment to secure player commitment.
Liaise with local clubs to ensure an exit pathway and explore opportunities for partnership with high performing clubs, local agencies and governing bodies with a view to future careers in football.
Securing County/Club trials for xxx% of academy.
Seeking work experience placement where desired.
Co-ordinate match days to ensure squads are available and selected, transport and kits are organised and match time coaching is appropriately delivered.
Stakeholder engagement. Maintain and promote dialogue to provide ethos and conditions for students to achieve their full potential by communicating with staff, students, parents and Chelsea FC Foundation staff.
Provide academy activity reports to the Director of Sport and Chelsea line manager monthly.
Ensure scholars represent the school in accordance with school values and attend events, such as Assembly, Sports day and Sports Awards Evening etc. Recognizing that the Academy is an integral part of the school.
Use local sporting knowledge to activate recruitment opportunities for new students.
Working within Safe Codes of Practice, Emergency Procedures and the School Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities Guidelines.
Liaise with school staff (SMT, Marketing, Teachers, House Staff etc)
Marketing and Promotion or Academy when required. This may involve foreign travel.
A willingness to travel and meet with Agents, Parents and potential students.
Manage existing relationships.
Achieve set sales targets.
Maintain academy numbers.
Take part in charity events at our international sites i.e. Swazi.
Experience: Recent and relevant industry experience.
Qualifications/Training: UEFA Pro License & Level 2 coaching in football.
Special Knowledge: Holistic football coaching techniques
Skill: Ability to coach performance level football team player who is equally able to make their own decisions and take initiative. Able to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with young people
Disposition: Can do attitude. Presentable. First class customer service.
Hard working. Enthusiasm and Commitment.
Other: CRB check carried out on appointment. Able to work during the week for set sessions and Wednesday for matches.
Interests: Continued Professional Development Coach Sport.
Experience: Knowledge of sport and fitness in education
Qualifications/Training: UEFA B or A Licence Coach.
Special Knowledge: Football within further and higher education. Knowledge of the local football networks and clubs.
Skill: Experience of coaching high performance football.
Disposition: Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours and appropriate attitudes to use of authority and maintaining discipline.
